Christopher M. Strohsahl, Ph.D.
Chairman (Founder)
Chris has spent the last four years developing the NanoLantern™ technology. He has authored four peer-reviewed publications on the topics of biosensing and DNA interactions and is a co-author on two pending patents. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Union College in Schenectady, NY and his Ph. D. in Biophysics from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Benjamin L. Miller, Ph.D.
Treasurer (Founder)
Ben is Associate Professor of Dermatology, Biochemistry and Biophysics, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester. He is the (co)author of over twelve patents and 60 peer-reviewed publications in biosensing, combinatorial chemistry, and organic synthesis. He has presented over 75 invited lectures world-wide. In addition to his efforts with Lighthouse Biosciences, Ben is an active consultant for Pathologics, a Rochester-area startup company focused on point-of-care diagnostics. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Bachelor of Arts in German, and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his Ph. D. in Chemistry from Stanford University. Prior to his academic appointment, Ben was a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at Harvard University.

Todd D. Krauss, Ph.D.
Secretary (Founder)
Todd is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Rochester. He is a (co)author 3 patents and over 40 peer-reviewed publications in the field of nanomaterials science and technology including the optical, vibrational and charge properties of semiconductor and metallic nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes, and has been invited to give over 50 presentations on his research. He received his Bachelor of Science in Applied and Engineering Physics, from Cornell University in Ithica, NY and his Ph. D. in Applied Physics from Cornell University. Prior to his academic appointment, Todd was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at Columbia University. He also served in the United States Army reserve for eight years.

Rand Henke, Ph.D.
Member
Rand has over 25 years of professional business experience in a broad array of early-to mid-stage development technology, service and manufacturing businesses. His experiences included several CEO and consultant roles involving general management, finance, technology licensing, marketing and sales, business development and R&D management. He has also co-founded and served on the boards of several economic development not-for-profit organizations focused on technology transfer and the formation of new technology-based businesses.
Rand is currently Chairman of US-HealthForce, a healthcare employee development company and Chairman of a specialty radio-active and hazardous waste container company, Container Technology Industries. He will continue to hold those positions on a part-time basis.
